Our Mission

The Schoharie County Kennel Club mission is to do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of all dogs, to encourage sportsmanlike competition and conduct at dog shows under the rules of the American Kennel Club and to encourage all dog owners to enjoy their pets through a variety of activities. To continue educating ourselves and others on such topics as canine health, fitness, relationship based training, breeding, care, legislation and responsible dog ownership through educational seminars, readings and discussions. To recognize that growth as a club comes with growth of each individual member. We follow the AKC’s guidelines on the care and treatment of dogs at all functions that our Club sponsors. Above and beyond these guidelines, the SCKC has chosen to support only positive training techniques and practices. Any and all harsh or inhumane corrections and/or treatment will not be tolerated at any SCKC function.
